Neume Composer by Tortoise

Compose with intention. A chord progression tool for musicians who want to understand harmony, not just use it.

Neume thinks in scale degrees, not absolute pitches. Place chords on a visual timeline, hear them voiced in real time, and watch four-part voice leading unfold through melodic necklaces that trace each voice between chords.

Analyze any song to reverse-engineer its harmony. Ask why a chord works and get a real music theory explanation. Let AI deconstruct a progression down to its harmonic skeleton, then build it back up step by step. Learn while you compose.

No bloated DAW. No notation software learning curve. Just a focused space for exploring harmony — whether you're a student studying counterpoint, a songwriter chasing a feeling, or a composer sketching the bones of something new.

Neume is on hold while it gets more work. It is not open to new visitors right now, and there is nothing to sign up for.
